Things on the scale of Heizer's "City" are just more man-made blight on nature. Leave what remains of "empty" land alone, including not putting ugly oil-built wind turbines all over it. And "Spiral Jetty," while reasonably-sized, is mostly on dry land these days.

I remember in the 80's my mom worked in the garment district. We moved from Avenue U in 1993 into Chinatown proper, and then into the housing projects near by. Chinatown raised me, educated me and I will always love these few blocks. I haven't moved far, and part of me hopes to one day come back and run a business and continue the legacy of Chinatown from all those that came before me.

Suffering and failure is a part of life everywhere, I’m from Eastern Europe from a post Soviet and supposedly the poorest country in Europe. But so what. There is always something you can do. Hearing a Californian talk about the brutality of life and it being systemic is disingenuous. It’s disempowering. The United States is the greatest country in the world, with unmatched opportunities.

My understanding, is that cowboys, were strictly BLACK! Whites were referred to as cattlemen, and in a derogatory way like they do, called the Black men BOYS! Today, they’ve hijacked, and culturally appropriated the term!

The black rodeo used to come (and maybe still comes) to my hometown, and there were black cowboys, cowgirls, and children at our parades in Louisiana.

I'm sure she is into this heart and soul. Yet it's getting ridiculous how people of different cultures are being substituted into European cultural dances. I don't think it would go over well if the Irish were substituted into African traditional dances. More brainwashing and conditioning by media to get people to think this is the norm.
